Our Core Beliefs

We believe that the Bible...

is inerrant, infallible and God-breathed. It is the final authority for faith, life and church. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man.The Bible is to be interpreted according to historic, grammatical, textual context and within the context of all scripture. The state or federal government has no authority over our Biblically held beliefs.

(2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12; Revelation 22:18-19; Acts 4:18-20)

We believe that God...
created the space, time, energy and material which we now refer to as the universe. The universe is not some cosmic accident. It is the divine and intentional work of the Creator. He is the one true uncreated, unlimited, infinite and almighty God, yet in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—coeternal and coequal in unity, glory, and majesty. The universe He created was complete and perfect until the first humans rebelled against God. Now all of creation “groans” because of sin.

(Gen. 1-2; Ex. 20:11, Romans 8:22; Matthew 3:16-17; John 6:38-39;
John 14:16-18; John 10:30-33; John 1:1-3; Col. 1:15-17; Isaiah 44:24; John 8:58; Colossians 2:8-9; Philippians 2:5-6; Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 2:10-13)

We believe that humans...

were created in the image and likeness of God; but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Humans are totally depraved and, of themselves, utterly unable to remedy their lost condition. Every human, although flawed, is uniquely created, has intrinsic value, and is worthy of respect and love from other humans.

(Gen.1:26-27; Rom. 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Eph. 2:1-3; 4:17-19)

We believe that Jesus...

is God and became a man without ceasing to be God. He was born of the virgin Mary, and lived a perfect sinless life, in order that He might reveal Himself and redeem us. He accomplished redemption (for those who believe) through His death on the cross as a voluntary, substitutionary sacrifice. He then defeated death, proving He was who He said, by resurrecting from His grave on the third day from his burial. He then met with many people before ascending back into Heaven and He will one day return.

(Isa. 7:14; 9:6; Luke1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8, Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24-25; Eph. 1:7; 1 Pet. 2:24; 1 Peter 1:3-5, Acts 1:9-10; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25; 9:24; 1John 2:1-2; Matt. 24:27, 44; Hebrews 9:28)

We believe in forgiveness...

of our sins, which is a gift of God given to man by grace through the perfect shed blood of Jesus. This gift can freely be received by repenting of our sin andplacing our complete faith in Jesus, believing in His deity, death, burial and resurrection. Without Jesus, we will face eternal separation from God. With Jesus, we will spend eternity with God.

(Eph. 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-13; Hebrews 10:10-12)

We believe that Christians...

having been redeemed to God by Jesus, can go directly to God in prayer and are all called to serve Him with their lives. Someone becoming a believer is the beginning of a life journey for God’s glory. Every choice and decision should now be filtered through God’s Word and prayer. Christians are to keep keep themselves separated from false teachers and from the lusts of this world.

(Matthew 12:36, 1 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Peter 2:5-9, Hebrews 4:14-16, 1 Timothy 2:5Romans 16:17-18, 2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

We believe the local church...

is a committed body of believers who selflessly serve God and each other;and proclaim the gospel to their neighbors and the nations. Jesus is the head of the church and we have no denominational allegiances. For someone to be a committed member of the local church, they need to be a genuine believer and baptized by immersion. The church has two religious ordinances, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. There are two sets of authority figures in the church: Pastors to under-shepherd and care for the church and Deacons to help care for the church.

(Acts 2:41-47 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, 1 Corinthians 12:27, 1 Peter 5:1-3, Acts 6:1-6, Philippians 1:1, Colossians 1:18, Acts 14:23, 1 Peter 5:1-2, Titus 1:5)

We believe that love...

should be demonstrated toward others, not only toward fellow believers, but also toward those who are not believers, those who oppose us, and those who engage in sinful actions. We are to deal with those who oppose us graciously, gently, patiently, and humbly. God forbids the stirring up of strife, the taking of revenge, or the threat or use of violence as a means of resolving personal conflict or obtaining personal justice. Although God commands us to abhor sinful actions, we are to love and pray for any person who engages in such sinful actions.

(Lev. 19:18; Matt. 5:44-48; Luke 6:31; John 13:34-35; Rom. 12:9-10;17-21; 13:8-10; Phil. 2:2-4; 2 Tim. 2:24-26; Titus 3:2; 1 John 3:17-18)
